Introduction

Founded in 2013, Truebuild Homes (formerly Plain View Design + Build) began with a clear commitment: meaningful designs intentionally built.

Tanner and Blake, childhood friends turned business partners, saw an opportunity to fill a gap in the residential construction market by offering thoughtful design combined with enduring quality. Over the years, the company evolved — welcoming Logan: a new partner, expanding their capabilities, and earning a well-deserved reputation for their design-driven approach.

The Challenge

Despite their success, Plain View faced a perception problem.

Many admired their design skills but assumed their focus was limited to high-end, modern aesthetics. This overlooked their deep expertise as builders of homes meant to grow with families, to host laughter, celebrations, and everyday routines. As the company approached its tenth anniversary, Tanner and Logan knew it was time to create a brand that spoke not only to their craft but also to the lives and legacies they help shape.

The Solutions

We partnered with Plain View to create a brand as warm and inviting as the homes they build — a brand that feels like coming home. From the very beginning, we leaned into their two key audiences: active mothers and sophisticated grandmothers. These audiences shaped how the brand should look, feel, and connect on a deeper level. Following the target audience exploration, we landed on the following five brand attributes to use as our pillars for the rest of the brand: Warm, Nurturing, Sophisticated, Intentional, Outdoorsy.

With the goals in mind, we explored the possibility of a new name — one that could evoke a sense of warmth and welcome while speaking to the sophistication of their clients and the purposeful approach they bring to home-building. After countless brainstorming sessions, thoughtful revisions, and careful refinement, we arrived at six strong contenders.

The results were in…

Truebuild Homes was the winner.

From there, it was smooth sailing into the brand design. As always, we started by creating three visual strategies to base the rest of the brand on. Our chosen visual strategy was Growin’ Old Together. It’s approachable, it’s uniquely sophisticated, and most importantly, it stands out in the market.

Next up: It was time to put pen to paper, and create the initial pencil sketches.

We created several options, and confidently moved forward with one that speaks to the target audiences, and the broader community. This option speaks to the five brand attributes with an icon that features a welcoming home built of greenery, and a sturdy, reliable font.

Lastly, we finalized the design and brought it to life.

Truebuild was officially ready to enter the market as the premier choice for design and construction, offering tailored home building solutions and deeply valued client relationships.

The Results

We’re excited to share that Truebuild Homes recently launched their new brand into the world. Early feedback from clients and the community has been overwhelmingly positive, with many praising the new brand as a better reflection of who they are and what they do.
